10 filmmakers. 10 bands. 53 hours and 14 minutes and $1000 to make a music video.

Applications open June 10 and close June 28. Lineup announced July 5.

WHAT IS the 53:14?

The 53:14 Music Video Experiment pairs 10 filmmakers with 10 musical acts and gives them 53 hours and 14 minutes and a filming budget of $1000 to go out and create 10 new music videos over the course of one weekend in Northern Colorado.

The catch? No one knows who’s working with who until Kickoff! On Friday August 16th, filmmakers and bands meet up at The Lyric in Fort Collins, where the team pairings will be announced.  From that moment, the clock starts. Teams have 53 hours and 14 minutes to conceive, shoot, edit and deliver their music videos.

Videos are then premiered lived on the outdoor screen at the Lyric on August 30th, at a free, all-ages community event that features live music from alumni artists along with the world premieres of the ten new music videos.
